What is a Man?

A man is someone who cares about his family, someone who cares about themselves and others around him. He is someone who is capable of love, someone who will stick up for what is right even if others disagree. A Man is consistently trying to improve himself in some way

Here is an excerpt from Esquire.Com

A man carries cash.

A man looks out for those around him — woman, friend, stranger. A man can cook eggs. A man can always find something good to watch on television. A man makes things — a rock wall, a table, the tuition money. Or he rebuilds — engines, watches, fortunes. He passes along expertise, one man to the next. Know-how survives him. This is immortality. A man can speak to dogs. A man fantasizes that kung fu lives deep inside him somewhere. A man knows how to sneak a look at cleavage and doesn't care if he gets busted once in a while. A man is good at his job. Not his work, not his avocation, not his hobby. Not his career. His job. It doesn't matter what his job is, because if a man doesn't like his job, he gets a new one. Esquire has an interesting take on it and I hope you read the rest of the article linked below. At The Fallible Man we are consistently trying to improve ourselves and grow as men; that can come from reading, listening, learning new things, doing things or any other form of self improvement.

A magazine from the UK (Independent) asked scientist what the best qualities are in men and they came up with this list. I guess these are the things we should strive for, or maybe the things women should look for in a man? The read was a little weird, see what you think about these and comment below.

  • He's smart. ...

  • He makes you laugh. ...

  • He actively supports your career. ...

  • He makes as much effort with your friends and family as you do with his. ...

  • He's emotionally intelligent. ...

  • He respects your opinions and listens to what you have to say. ...

  • He's willing to put the work in. ...

  • He celebrates your achievements.

  • He Shares your values

Webster Defines it as:

Medical Definition of man

: a bipedal primate mammal of the genus Homo (H. sapiens) that is anatomically related to the great apes (family Pongidae) but is distinguished by greater development of the brain with resulting capacity for articulate speech and abstract reasoning, by marked erectness of body carriage with corresponding alteration of muscular balance and loss of prehensile powers of the foot, and by shortening of the arm with accompanying increase in thumb size and ability to place the thumb next to each of the fingers, that is usually considered to occur in a variable number of freely interbreeding races, and that is the sole living representative of the family Hominidaebroadly : any living or extinct member of the family Hominidae

The question becomes how do you define it, because I am not sure there is a set definition (outside of a medical definition) as much as perceived values.

Here at The Fallible Man we define it this way

A Fallible Man:

A man capable of making mistakes, who is imperfect that is constantly trying to grow and improve himself daily some way
